Spotluck is a fun and innovative dining app that ties together helping someone decide where to eat in a fun & unique way, with helping local restaurants attract diners when needed most! We do this by offering smart and real-time incentives that users discover by spinning a virtual wheel of restaurants. It’s a simple and engaging way of making dining decisions for users, while restaurants enjoy the ability of offering dynamic pricing and the benefits of yield management.

We aim to be the dining app of choice for both independent restaurant owners, as well as folks who love to dine locally. Spotluck is partnered with over 1,500 restaurants throughout Greater Washington DC, Baltimore, Richmond, Greater Philadelphia, New Jersey, Delaware, Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. We also operate in multiple small towns and neighborhoods throughout the East Coast and plan on launching in many more.

In order to help support our growing organization and with it the financial complexity of the business, we are looking for an experienced business analyst with an insatiable hunger to learn, outperform and help maintain a healthy business! You’ll be joining a tight-knit team that loves sharing the Spotluck story and bringing innovation to both our users and restaurants.

 

What you’ll get to do:

  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
  • Prepare and report timely monthly financial statements
  • Coordinate the preparation of investor and board reporting
  • Measure, track and report key business metrics to the executive team while utilizing models to help guide the business plan and strategy
  • Utilize research and analysis to corporate strategy and business plans
  • Maintain, and where possible, automate, treasury, invoicing, payroll, record-keeping, and other critical finance functions
  • Monitor banking activities of the company and manage treasury to meet the needs of various teams
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s in finance or Business Administration plus 12 months experience finance or accounting required.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, and experience with creating financial statements and budgets/business plans.
